Individualized Skills and Socialization
Support Built Around Each Person.
Our ISS program is designed to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities build skills, connect with their community, and live fuller, more independent lives.
What is ISS?
Individualized Skills and Socialization — Explained
Individualized Skills and Socialization (ISS) is a Texas HHSC-funded service that provides structured, community-based support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
ISS is not a one-size-fits-all program. Every participant has a unique support plan built around their personal goals, interests, and needs — developed in collaboration with the individual, their family, and their service coordinator.
Our services are offsite and community-based — participants are out in the real world every day. Whether that's going to the library, bowling, visiting a museum, or exploring local businesses, every activity is intentional and built around each person's goals.
Everything We Offer
Community Outings
We take participants into the community — parks, museums, restaurants, sporting events, and local businesses. These outings build confidence, social skills, and a genuine sense of belonging.
Increased community familiarity
Greater confidence in public settings

Life Skills Development
From cooking and budgeting to personal hygiene and time management, we work on the practical skills that support greater independence and self-sufficiency.

Social Connections
We facilitate meaningful friendships and group activities — because relationships are at the heart of a good life. Participants build communication skills and learn to navigate social situations with confidence.

Creative Activities
Art, music, crafts, cooking, and creative expression are woven into our program. These activities build fine motor skills, self-expression, and joy.

Offsite ISS
Our ISS services are community-based — meaning your loved one is out living life every single day. We don't sit in a classroom. We go to the library to read, hit the bowling alley, explore local parks, visit museums, shop at the grocery store, and participate in the real world. Every outing is purposeful, building skills and confidence in the environments where life actually happens.
